Alexandria, MN (August 13th, 2011) – Benson, MN driver Scott Huston led all 12 laps scoring his first WISSOTA Street Stock feature win of the season Saturday night at Viking Speedway. Alexandria’s own Shawn Olson led wire to wire scoring the win in the WISSOTA Midwest Modified finale while Cory Tammen tallied yet another Viking Speedway victory in the WISSOTA Super Stock feature event. Dwayne Clarke garnered his first ever WISSOTA Modified win in the WISSOTA Modified A-main with Jeff Wildung reigning victorious in the 20-lap WISSOTA Late Model finale. Fans and drivers from all over Central Minnesota were once again treated to some tremendous Amsoil Dirt Track Series action, Viking Speedway style.

The aforementioned Olson was challenged early on a few times by Dustin Bitzan but never relinquished the lead on the way to his first WISSOTA Midwest Modified victory of the season. Bitzan was forced to settle for a hard fought second ahead of eighth starting Jason Hoffman in third. William Lund and Brian Haben each turned in top five performances as well, finishing fourth and fifth respectively. Back deep in traffic, Ryan Schleusner and Brady Gerdes made hard chargers toward the front during the 15-lap event. Schleusner started 18th and finished sixth while Brady Gerdes started 25th and finished seventh. The A-main was a war of attrition with 25 cars starting the event, and 14 finishing.

The best race of the evening belonged to the WISSOTA Street Stocks with Scott Huston battling with Jordan Tollakson throughout the 12-lap feature event. In the end, however, it was Huston taking the win over Tollakson in a hard fought feature event. Travis Berends was the hard charger of the event starting ninth and finishing third. Justin Tammen and Mark Blom each members of the top five as well, finishing fourth and fifth respectively.

Although Jon Stepan and Jeff Crouse tried their best to take the lead, Cory Tammen would never relinquish the lead during the 20-lap WISSOTA Super Stock finale. Tammen hit his marks each and every lap on his way to yet another victory. Crouse and Stepan swapped second a couple times during the duration of the A-main with Stepan ultimately taking home the second spot. Crouse, 12th starter Matt Miller and Jeremy Jerve rounded out the top five.

The WISSOTA Modified A-main was dominated by Alexandria’s own Dwayne Clarke. A few yellow flags put Travis Saurer and Cody Skytland right on the rear bumper of Clarke, but Dwayne drove away each time on the way to his first career WISSOTA Modified feature win. Eighth starter, Skytland finished in the second spot ahead of sixth starting, Saurer. Dave Schroeder and Dennis Bitzan each garnered top five finishes as well for the WISSOTA Modifieds, who drew 22 entries.

Jeff Wildung once again proved why he is one of the best in the business tallying the win in the WISSOTA Late Model finale. Wildung jumped out front early on and was never seriously challenged during the 20-lap A-main. Fellow row two starter Eric Breeschoten finished a strong second ahead of eighth starter Corey Nelson. Duluth, MN traveler Joey Ogston finished fourth followed by St. Cloud, MN legend Jeff Hinkemeyer, in his first race of the season in his familiar #4F.
